Matthew McDade

Matthew McDade, Treasurer

Matthew McDade has been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and a KCC member since 2002. Matthew is a graduate of Portage Northern High School. He holds a BBA and MBA in finance from Western Michigan University. Matthew began his banking career as a commercial lender for First of America specializing in small business and middle market lending. In 1999, Matthew became the Community Bank President for Republic Bank in Kalamazoo. As one of eight bank presidents for Republic Bank Matthew managed the Western Michigan operation for the bank. In 2008, Matthew formed McDade Capital which specializes in debt and equity placement, loan restructuring, and business consulting for commercial real estate investors and business owners throughout the Midwest. Matthew is married to his wife of 20-years, Michelle McDade. Together they have four children. 


Eric Griswold

Professional and Education:  Eric brings a wide range of professional experience to the KCC Board.  He began his professional career as an attorney in South Florida, working on land use and environmental issues.  In 2004, he returned to his home state of Michigan to continue his legal practice as a civil trial lawyer with the Kalamazoo office of Miller Johnson.  In 2011, he left his position as a partner with Miller Johnson to take on his current role as CFO and Chief Legal Counsel of State Building Products, a fast-growing steel construction product manufacturing company, where his responsibilities include managing all sales, finance, legal, and technology functions for the company.  Eric is also the current Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Steel Framing Industry Association, which works with manufacturers, distributors, and end users to standardized and expand the use of steel framing products throughout North America.    
Born and raised in Custer, a small town in the Northern Michigan, Eric attended Michigan State University where earned his undergraduate degree in Marketing and Supply Chain Management. He then began his law school studies at the University of Colorado, in Boulder, before transferring to the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida where he completed his degree.  Eric has previously volunteered his time with several local boards, including the Humane Society and the Boys and Girls Club, and is currently serving as the Chair of the House Committee at KCC.
Family:  Eric and his wife, Dorothy, met at MSU, and married 11 years ago after chasing each other across the country to attend graduate school.  They moved to Kalamazoo in 2004 and joined KCC in 2010.  Dorothy runs her own private dental practice in Texas Corners.  They have two children, George (6) and Olivia (6), who are both rapidly becoming better golfers than their parents.  The entire family enjoys using the golf, pool, and dining facilities at KCC as often as possible.  When they are not spending their free time at KCC, Eric and his family make regular trips to the Florida Keys for fishing, boating, and relaxation.


Petey Stephanak

Petey moved to Kalamazoo in 2004 as a result of husband Jim’s position as the Publisher of the Kalamazoo Gazette.  Petey graduated from Purdue University with a B.A. in Interior Design.  While at Purdue, Petey competed for the University as a springboard diver and spent summers working as a professional high diver at amusement parks around the country and in Europe for the Great American High Diving Team.  Upon graduation, Petey worked as a licensed interior designer in the commercial office furniture business in New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Michigan before taking time to raise their children. Currently, Petey is associate vice president at Southwest Michigan First working with contributors to the award winning economic development organization.  Southwest Michigan First’s mission is to affect the community through the creation of jobs and opportunity in Southwest Michigan. As a volunteer, Petey has been active with the American Heart Association Go Red for Women, Girls on the Run | Girls on Track programs, March of Dimes, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and served as a volunteer on the KCC renovation committee in 2010.  In addition, Petey has been involved with children’s activities including Girls Scouts, Girls on the Run and Destination Imagination.  Petey and Jim have been members of Kalamazoo Country Club since moving to Kalamazoo in 2004. They have two children who have participated in the swimming, golf and tennis programs.  Son Alex attends University of Michigan and daughter Molly attends Grand Valley State University.    

Dr. Larry Schlack

Jason Falk, President

Jason moved to Portage in 2008 from Southern California as part of a job relocation. He currently holds the position of Vice President of Operations for Lippert Components, whose corporate headquarters are in Elkhart, IN.  Jason oversees numerous operations across the country. He has been working at Lippert Components for the past 17 years and has held various management titles along the way. Jason graduated, with honors, from Alma College in 1996 with a BA in Business Administration, along with minors in Finance and Marketing. Jason and his wife, Kristin, have been married for 16 years. They have 3 children, Braden (10), Rylan (8) and Maryn (5). The Falk Family joined KCC in 2009 and have been enjoying the amenities and activities at KCC ever since! The children enjoy the junior golf program, swim team, water show and tennis programs. Their summer days are filled with many fun hours on property. Outside of the club, the children participate in travel hockey, travel soccer, baseball and various music programs. Jason is an avid golfer and Kristin is a beginning golfer who enjoys the women’s fun league as time allows.

Jamie Headley

Jamie is the President & CEO of Dementia Services Group, a dementia consulting company that trains providers in dementia care and helps families navigate cognitive impairment issues. Jamie founded the company in 2009 in Indianapolis as she was caring for her mother with Alzheimer’s disease. DSG expanded operations to South West Michigan when Jamie and her husband moved to Kalamazoo in fall of 2012. Prior to starting DSG, Jamie worked for 15 years as a high level executive in the printing and packaging industry. Jamie volunteers her time by participating with the following organizations as: Vice President, Kalamazoo County Advocates for Senior Issues; Chair, SW MI Dementia Consortium; Chair, KCC Social Committee; and has conducted team building and leadership training sessions for KCC’s department heads. Jamie is also active in 100 Women Who Care, Go Red for Women and the Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce. Jamie holds and BA and MBA from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois and is certified by multiple organizations as a dementia practitioner, instructor and specialist. She is a certified senior advisor and also a non-denominational minister. Jamie and her husband Scott joined KCC when they moved to Kalamazoo in 2012. Her brother George Wilson moved here in 2013 and is a KCC member as well. They all enjoy spending time at KCC and golfing as much as time will allow.

Robert Kramer

Bradley Weller, Secretary

Brad moved to Kalamazoo in 2001 upon joining The Connable Office where he now serves as a Managing Director and Vice President.  In his current role, Brad serves clients across the United States and abroad and leads the firm's estate planning and trust administration area.  Prior to joining The Connable Office, Brad practiced trust and estate law at Varnum, Riddering, Schmidt & Howlett, LLP, in Grand Rapids.  Brad is currently a member of the Trust Counsel for the Michigan Bankers Association and was formerly a Director of the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy and a member of its Land Protection and Resource Development Committees. Brad holds an AB in Psychology from the University of Michigan, where he earned Phi Beta Kappa distinction, and a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern University School of Law. Brad and his wife Cheri, a graduate of Michigan State University and the Fashion Institute of Technology, have been married 18 years.  They joined the Kalamazoo Country Club in 2002 and enjoy golfing, dining, and swimming at the club with their three children, Brenna (12), Brady (10), and Bryce (6).


Dr. Valerie Duhn

Professional and Education:  Valerie is a practicing nephrologist who is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  She works with Nephrology Center, a division of Paragon Health, P.C.  She provides patient care at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, Borgess Hospital, Borgess Pipp Hospital, and Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan.  She has outpatient clinics in both Kalamazoo and Battle Creek and attends to dialysis patients across Southwest Michigan. 
She and her husband moved to Kalamazoo in 2010 after completing their medical training.  She grew up in Mishawaka, Indiana and attended college at the University of Notre Dame, where she competed in varsity cross country and track.  She went on to attend medical school at Indiana University followed by internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. 
After moving to Kalamazoo, she initially practiced with Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies/Michigan State University and served as a faculty advisor to medical students and resident physicians.   She is an Assistant Professor at both Michigan State University College of Human Medicine as well as Western Michigan University School of Medicine.  She was honored with the Faculty Physician Teaching Award from the resident physicians in both 2012 and 2015.
Family: Valerie and her husband, Ryan, have been married since 2006.  They have two children, Madeleine (5) and Charlotte (3).  They also have a new black Labrador puppy named Oscar “Not the Grouch” Duhn.  The Duhns joined KCC in 2010 and enjoy living on the fourteenth fairway.  

Mathew Molitor

Matthew Molitor, Past President

Matt was born and raised in the Kalamazoo area and is the son of Members Ron and Joan Molitor.  Along with his wife Michelle (Miedema), he is a graduate of Portage Central High School (’90) and Albion College (’94).  After college, Matt went on to pursue a career in film and video production in Vancouver, British Columbia. After working in Chicago for several years, he and Michelle moved to Ann Arbor, where Matt worked his way up in the camera department on various commercial and film projects shot in Detroit as well as nationally (8 Mile, Transformers, The Island) while Michelle earned her MA in Public Policy at UM.   Matt has served as Director of Photography on several features films including locally produced KALAMAZOO?  Recently, the couple moved back to the area to be closer to family and to work at Mol-Son, the family’s engineering/tool & die business located in Mattawan. Matt and his wife Michelle have been married for 14 years.  They joined KCC in 2005 and are very active at the Club.  Matt serves as the KCC Men’s Golf Activities Committee Chair.  Michelle and their two children are very involved with KCC’s social and sporting activities and events.

Todd Sanford

John Hinkle

John served our country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He returned to Kalamazoo and earned both his BBA and MA from Western Michigan University in Business. He is the former owner of Hinkle’s Bakery, and was most recently Owner and President of National Flavors, but retired from this position in 2013. As a longtime Kalamazoo resident, John has been very active in our community. John has served as a volunteer for the following organizations: Allegan County Commission; Kalamazoo County YMCA Board; Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce Board Member; as Consistory and Executive Team Member of Centerpoint Church; and as a School Board Member. John and his wife Patricia joined KCC in 2004 along with their seven children, Isaac, John, Luke, Daniel, Susie, Nate and Amy. The couple has been married for 45 years. They are grandparents to 22 grandchildren and counting! The couple enjoys playing on such a quality golf course and all of the other excellent KCC amenities. Their family has been blessed with many wonderful memories shared with many wonderful people. John is grateful for the consistently friendly staff and excellent service provided by the KCC management and team.


Daniel Scheid, Vice President

Daniel moved to Kalamazoo in 2007 from Grand Rapids.  He works with the Zeigler Auto Group where he has held the position Chief Financial and Operations Officer since 2003. Zeigler is a retail automotive group headquartered in Kalamazoo with 20 dealerships located through Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and New York. Daniel oversees the business development and acquisition activities, legal, finance and general business matters of the organization. Prior to joining Zeigler, he worked in the business development and strategy group at Steelcase in Grand Rapids. Prior to Steelcase, Daniel worked with Deloitte where he earned his CPA designation. Daniel graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in finance and accounting. He serves as chairman of the board of MRC Industries and on the executive committee of the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Foundation board. Daniel volunteers as co-chair of the annual Drive for Life event which raises funds each spring for the American Cancer Society and other charitable organizations in the Kalamazoo area. Daniel and his wife, Laura, have been married for 20 years. They have two children, Christina (9) and Rebecca (8). The Scheids joined KCC in 2009 and enjoy taking advantage of the family environment and social activities that KCC offers. Christina and Rebecca participate in many of the kid’s programs and the family enjoys travel, golfing, swimming and dining with friends at KCC.

Daniel Baker

Professional and Education:  Dan works with Greenleaf Trust in Kalamazoo where he is a Vice-President and Trust Relationship Officer.  He also serves as the Director of Business Development and a member of Greenleaf’s Executive Leadership Team.  Prior to joining Greenleaf Trust in 2007, Dan practiced law for almost twenty years, the majority of that time with Howard & Howard in Bloomfield Hills.
Dan grew up in Kalamazoo and is a graduate of Kalamazoo College and Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  He serves on Kalamazoo College’s Planned Giving Advisory Council.
Family:  Dan and his wife Beth have two children, Matthew (32), who lives in Chicago and Laura (29), who lives Minneapolis.   Dan and Beth have enjoyed their membership at KCC over the last several years and Dan looks forward to contributing to the ongoing vitality and growth of the club over the next number of years.
