Pool Rules & Regulations

KCC swimmers follow the rules listed below during the summer months:

1.   If there is inclement weather, or if the air temperature is lower than 65 degrees, the pool will not be open.

2.   Food must be eaten in the Cabana area only. No food in wading pool area.
      Beverages are permitted in the pool area in plastic or styrofoam only.
      No glass or aluminum allowed in the pool area at any time.

3.  Walk on the pool deck area at all times.

4.  Walk on the diving board and go straight off. Do not hang on the diving board.

5.  Do not climb on or hang from the lifeguard towers.

6.  Parents are responsible for watching their children in the wading  pool.  Children eight (8) and under are not permitted in the wading  pool area unless they are supervised at all times by an adult.

7.  Children under eight (8) years old are expected to be with a qualified babysitter or parent.  Instruct babysitters to  introduce themselves to the Pool Director upon arrival. Babysitters are expected to be vigilant and dedicated in terms of keeping an eye on their various charges.  The Pool Director  will communicate concerns with parents directly if problems arise.

8.  Children that are at least (8) years old who demonstrate the ability to swim 50 yards (2 lengths) non-stop, with any combination of strokes, unassisted may swim without direct supervision.
     a. Children ages (5-7) years of age that have passed the swim test must have a parent or qualified babysitter within the pool complex.
     b. Children (4) years of age and under that have passed the swim test must have a parent or qualified babysitter within the dedicated pool fence of the pool of which they are swimming.
     c. If any child has not passed the swim test they must have a parent or qualified babysitter in the pool with them at all times.

9.  A responsible adult must be in the water with children wearing any form of floatation device.

10.  Please do not use kick boards except under a coach or instructor’s direction.  Kick boards are forbidden during recreational swimming.

11. Goggles, ear plugs, swim diapers, and sun screen are available at the pool office.

12. Children who wear diapers must  wear “swim diapers” which are available in the pool office for a nominal fee.

13. Children should not play with deck furniture.

14. Please dispose of all trash in the waste baskets provided around the pool.

15. No smoking within the Cabana or pool areas.

16. Everyone must shower before entering either pool.

Guest Policies

1. A member must accompany all guests.

2. Individual guests are permitted the use of pool facilities six days per summer.

3. Guests are welcome any time during open swim.

4. Members with grandchildren under the age of 12 may bring their grandchildren to the pool on an unlimited basis. Grandchildren must be accompanied by an adult member at all times. Grandchildren should be signed in as guests but the guest fee will be waived.

5. Qualified baby-sitters over twelve, nust be registered with the Club Pool Director by the active member parent. Qualified babysitters, a parent or guardian, must accompany all grandchildren under seven. If they pass the swimming test and are at least 8 years of age, they may swim without supervision.

6. Qualified baby-sitters supervising member's children will not at anytime be allowed to bring other children of non-members, or children of their own, for use of the pool and facilities.

7. Members should take care to insure that all guests are properly registered at one of the two pool desks adjacent to the entrances to the pool. Guests are charged $5.00 per day.

8. Members who are planning on bringing more than three (3) guests at one time should contact the Pool Director prior to making those plans. The pool phone is 345-7749.

Everyone should check in daily upon entering the pool, (if you come to the pool three times in one day, you should sign in three times.) The Health Department insists that we maintain an accurate "body count" to ensure we are using the proper amount of sanitizer (chlorine). Thank you.
