Steve East

Steve is a Kalamazoo-area native and currently lives in the city in the West Main Hill historic area. He graduated from Gull Lake High School and Western Michigan University, where he earned a degree in construction science and management.
He is the chairman and chief executive officer of CSM Group of Companies, a specialty services provider within the A/E/C industry, headquartered in Kalamazoo which is home to five brands, including CSM Group, Compliance One Group, Level 5 Safety, SPARK Business Works, and Food Safety Readiness.
Steve has served numerous boards and organizations in the area, including Bronson Health Foundation Board of Directors, Western Michigan University Foundation Board of Directors, Southwest Michigan First Board of Directors, Downtown Tomorrow Inc. Board of Directors, Park Club Board of Directors, Gull Lake Country Club Board of Directors, Lakeside Board of Directors, American Heart Association Campaign Chair, and many others.
Steve and his wife, Katie, have been active members of KCC since 2013. Steve has enjoyed many years of golf related memories at KCC and his son, Adam, now regularly joins him for member/guest and other golfing opportunities. Adam and his wife reside in Chicago with Steve’s grandson, Leland, and Steve’s daughter, Andrea, and her husband reside in Ann Arbor with their children, Rose and Graham.
